A commissioned painting for a just born baby, whose name is also Soleil. :)

This artwork actually has a very interesting story behind it. It all started when my client, Ella, was researching the name Soleil for her soon to be born baby girl. As she was looking, she stumbled upon my site and asked me to do a painting for her baby, as her gift, since we also have same names, hehe. It was June then, and she was scheduled to give birth around July, which is coincidentally also my birth month! Hehehe maybe we were destined to meet. :p

So she told me their story, and I learned she didn't have an easy pregnancy. They had a hard time having a baby and there were a lot of complications, so when baby Soleil finally came, it was a very big blessing to them. They named the baby Marie Soleil Raphaelle—Marie for Mama Mary, Soleil for the sun/sunshine, and Raphaelle is for the archangel whose name means "God has healed". When I did the artwork, I used a smiling little girl, glowing like the sun, for baby Soleil. I placed a bird on top of her, as if the bird is protecting her. The nest is my own representation of life. I made the whole artwork look very gentle and soft, just like how babies feel. :>

I really loved doing this, especially with the very inspiring story behind it. Right now, I think baby Soleil is still under observation at the hospital, but i'm sure she'll get better. I hope all goes well for their family!
